Benefits of singing to your baby

Singing to your baby is one of the first language lessons you can give them. Even before they’re born, babies recognize simple music and their mother’s voice while in the womb. Singing makes yours the first and most important voice in their life, and your baby learns that you love him/her.

Singing in any language is soothing for babies and anything with a tune will capture their attention and help their development. Singing also appears to produce positive physiological effects in babies, such as improved heart and respiratory rates, better sleep and feeding patterns.

A song for waking up, sleeping, and other routine transitions and activities helps babies know what comes next. Our Ladybug Music lullaby time is a great example of how singing can soothe and help settle babies and help them transition. It lets them know that we’re almost finished with class and soon we will say goodbye until next time!
